The Award Categories


The Online Business Awards focus on SME online companies and online start-ups, as well as larger companies that are using online activities to promote themselves and improve business performance. There are 17 categories to enter and one Grand Prix, which will be decided by the Judges.

Design, Creativity and Content Categories

  • Best designed site, including writing (web, mobile, tablet)
  • Best use of photography or video content
  • Best online business marketing campaign
  • Most creative site including design, text, photography, illustration, graphics, animations, video and audio
  • Best fintech application or payment platform

Enterprise Sector Categories

(recognising the best websites in the following sectors)

  • Online business product or service (including banking and export or import services)
  • Online consumer product or service (including banking, but excluding hotels, restaurants, retail or travel)
  • Hotel, restaurant or hospitality product or service
  • Mobile & telecommunications product or service
  • Retail service (excluding hotels, restaurants and travel)
  • Travel and transport product or service

Performance Categories

(must provide evidence of improved business performance against stated objectives)

  • Best smaller online retailer
  • Best larger online retailer
  • Best small online business
  • Best medium-sized online business
  • Best larger online business
